Who We Are

Commonwealth Associates was established by Roger Paré soon after retiring from a long, successful career in the insurance industry. Having helped guide top tier insurers through an ever changing insurance landscape, he witnessed first hand how companies struggle to adopt and adapt to these challenges. Roger saw an opportunity to apply his experience to help others in the industry leverage these new technologies and approaches, while still employing key fundamental insurance principles. With that as his guidepost, Commonwealth Associates was born.

Principal and Owner
Roger began his insurance career in 1979 as a Marine and Property underwriter at CIGNA P&C. He subsequently held field management roles with Chubb Corp. in their CT and Boston offices, before moving to FM Global, where he held a variety of strategic corporate leadership roles including Non FM Lines Chief Underwriting Officer, VP Ceded Reinsurance  and Global Natural Hazards Aggregation Director. He later joined OneBeacon Insurance Group, where he held positions of Boston Branch Office VP, Southern New England Regional President and ultimately Middle Market President and Chief Underwriting Officer. He completed his career as the Chief Underwriting and Product Development Officer at The Hanover Insurance Company.

He is also Vice Chair, Board of Directors at InnSure Corp, an insurance innovator driving inventive solutions to the many challenges facing the insurance industry.

Roger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Physics from Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT.
